Smartline celebration event was a joyous occasion

On 24 October we hosted a gathering of Coastline Housing residents and enterprises we’ve worked with to celebrate the achievements of Smartline and to say thank you to all those who have helped with the research.

We really could not have done what we’ve done without the participation of the 300+homes in Camborne, Illogan, Pool and Redruth and so the event, held at Heartlands, was our opportunity to say a huge thank you.

We heard from project leaders and academics about what has been learnt over the last three years and premiered this short animation which explains everything from start to finish.

We enjoyed a simple Cornish lunch of pasties and saffron cake while being entertained by the Coastline Singers and local close-up magician Jono Blythe. We were also supported by Fit’n’Fun Kids who provided a creche and activities for children.

A number of our knowledge exchange enterprises were on hand to discuss their projects including CNC Craft and Switch Community plus guests were able to play our ‘Guess Who’ game which looks at the archetypes that have been developed for the project and try out virtual reality games.

Here are a selection of photos from the day.
