Smartline Conference at The Alverton Hotel, Truro, Cornwall on Friday, 8 November 2019

It’s hard to believe that a week has gone by since the flagship conference for the Smartline project!
During the two-day event – Smart Homes and Communities: local and global lessons for health and wellbeing – we heard from a very diverse range of speakers on housing, health and technology.
It was really interesting to hear from
Energiesprong UK about their retrofitting of homes to make them more energy efficient with customer comfort and wellbeing the focus.
And Liz Zeidler from the
Happy City Initiative gave a really energetic talk about measuring the happiness of communities.
We were proud to welcome Sarah Rodgers from the
University of Liverpool and James Evans from The University of Manchester who both had new insights to share with the delegates.
We heard from
Cornwall Council colleagues about how research is important in policy-making and we are looking forward to putting this into action in the next phase of Smartline.
Finally we must say a huge thank you to
The Alverton Hotel who provided an excellent venue with great food and top class service for our event.
